Our family's hearts and prayers are with the people in Haiti following this devastating earthquake. We are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The church has sent two planeloads of relief supplies to Haiti and set up a medical center in one of the local churches, manned by volunteer doctors. If you are looking for an opportunity to donate to humanitarian support for the Haitian people, knowing that 100% of your donation will go directly and immediately to people's needs, with 0% going toward overhead costs, please hit this link: http://newsroom.lds.org/ldsnewsroom/eng/news-releases-stories/church-aid-continues-to-arrive-in-haiti

NEWS FLASH! There are two new member of the Howyk's Havanese Clan! Check out the Frodo and Blossom Pages!

Our Havanese adventure began over 6 years ago when my then 8 year old daughter began begging for a dog. I reminded her that our family already had a dog: our wonderful 127 lb. Bouvier, "Caesar." Emily persisted, letting me know she wanted something "cuddly." I explained to her that I do not like the high strung, nervous temperament of a small dog. Emily persisted. After some thought, and a lot of family discussion, we decided to look into the idea. I mentioned it to my mom, who along with my dad, have bred large breeds for over 20 years. I was amazed when she responded enthusiastically, explaining that she too was planning to purchase a small dog. She had decided to begin breeding Havanese. She'd seen them at dog shows, and was very impressed with their calm, sweet and intelligent natures, as well as their adorable appearance. That sounded like the dog for us! So, we decided to do this together, and make it an "extended family adventure." First we were very lucky to find a wonderful breeder: Candy Gaudry, "Qbin's Havanese", Lorain, Ohio. About eight months later, Emily finally received her sweet, beautiful, and yes, VERY cuddly "Ginger." Ginger's pedigree is fantastic. She's a daughter of Candy's beloved "Amos", who won Best of Breed at the 2002 Havanese Nationals, and was shown at Westminster in 2003. Thank you, thank you, Candy, for this precious addition to our family.
Here's Emily a few years later, hanging out with her best friend Kari, and three of our Havanese: Shelly, Ginger & Simon. She has loved every minute of our family's Havanese adventure!
Havanese are SO contagious! Four years after receiving our 1st, we purchased our 4th - this gorgeous little male named Bristol. That's an average of one a year!!
They grow up so quickly!! Bristol is now a gorgeous adult male, and Emily is a beautiful and wonderful teenager! How time has flown!
There is nothing like a Havanese! We hope you enjoy browsing through the pages of this website. It has been a joy to maintain. We absolutely adore the Havanese that have come into our lives, and treasure the opportunity to care for our puppies until they are ready for their new families.
We are a cross country family connection: Beavercreek, Ohio (near Dayton), and Northern California. You can read more about each of our dogs, and see their pictures on the pages of this website. Our dogs are pets and family members first. They will be bred very carefully with the goal of producing world class Havanese for pet and occasional show placement. We of course health check our dogs to make sure they and their future puppies are strong, happy and healthy. We are happy to provide documentation to show the testing they've received regarding eyes, heart, hips & patella.

We love hearing from Havanese enthusiasts. Feel free to contact us regarding any "Havie Needs." We are always glad to make referrals to other reputable breeders if our timing for litters does not meet yours.
